  • WSE 2.0 - What's New and Different in WSE 2.0?

    Web Services Enhancements for Microsoft .NET version 2.0 includes a number of enhancements over earlier versions of WSE to more easily apply security policy, establish long-running secure conversations, and work in multiple hosted environments. Some of these enhancements, such as the WSE 2.0 support for the newly-approved Oasis standard version of WS-Security, mean WSE 2.0 cannot exchange SOAP messages with WSE 1.0. The good news is that you can use the WSE 2.0 assemblies in the same applications as your WSE 1.0 assemblies so that a single application can communicate with both WSE 1.0 and WSE 2.0 Web services

    This article explores the benefits of transport-neutral XML messaging, and introduces the Web Services Enhancements (WSE) 2.0 messaging application programming interface (API). It will also explain how the WS-Addressing specification allows messages to be addressed in a transport-independent way, and shows how it is implemented in WSE 2.0.

  • ASP.NET 2.0 Security Features

The topics covered include patch management, anti-virus measures, securing remote access, and blocking unsafe email attachments.

    The Security Guidance Kit contains documentation files along with a viewer application to allow you to navigate the documentation. It also contains free software tools from Microsoft, which you can optionally install or copy to other computers in your network.

    The Security Guidance Kit is for the information technology implementor in any small, medium, or large organization. The Kit is not intended for use by the home pc user or by the application developer. Home users should continue to consult www.microsoft.com/protect for security guidance and information.
