Great Mistakes in Technical Leadership
I somehow ended up here when I was searching some good articles on Technical Leadership. The article is definitely worth reading. There's also a free E-Book available here.
These points (mistakes) that I completely agree (and have seen in past) committed by other leaders in the past:
- Assuming the team serves you
- Isolating yourself from the team
- Not providing technical direction and context
- Failing to delegate effectively
- Failing to represent the best interests of your team
- Failing to anticipate
- Using the project to pursue your own technical interests
- Playing the game rather than focusing on the target
- Putting the project before the people
Hope this is helpful to you!
