nGallery Plug...
I was recently browsing around for a good Photo Album management tool (my existing system is sort of lacking). Of course one of the first places I considered was the nGallery Project from Jason Alexander et al. I downloaded the source and tossed it onto a semi-private site, and with very little effort I was online with a VERY professional looking photo gallery. Wicked.
With that said I wanted to be fair and try out another product, PhotoRoom. Compared the nGallery it falls far short of features and useability. No administration, nothing. They actually are putting watermarks on the generated images (how lame). The only thing I like with this system is that they allow you to do some work with the image, like rotation, B&W rendering, etc.. Either way, Im sticking with nGallery for now.
I wanted to produce a list of what I feel nGallery is missing, but it looks like Jason and his team have thought of pretty much everything: http://wiki.ngallery.org/default.aspx/nGallery.PendingFeatures
Kudos to the nGallery Team.

I agree 100% with your plug, Rob. I'm getting a lot from studying the source as well. Very smart application indeed.
