Jim: Not really: If you then try to print the page what
you get is white text on white background.
If I remember correctly, white text on blue background
is the worst combination of colors for text display on
screen. Just because one of the most horrible pieces of
software ever (wordperfect) had this combination isn't a
reason to keep it IMHO.
what are you talking about?
did you not program back in the DOS days?
anyone want to tell my wtf I can't just PICK my stinking
colors?
Word is the IDE for writing, why is it treated so
differently from MS's regular IDE's?
I LIKE white text on blue, it's just that the blue they
picked is too dark...
Roy:
I was toying around with the latest MS Word 2007 and was
wondering the exact same thing. I've always turned this
on on every computer I use word on, partly out of
nostalgia and partly out of sheer geekyness. It's a lot
better for dark rooms which I like, and I hope they add
this into the final version!

(or something like that)
From Technet:
"Reason for change: This feature, included in previous
versions of Word to emulate legacy versions of
WordPerfect, is no longer used."
