I'm still working on my entry... it will be ready in
time, I promise ;-)
This contest has been a great motivator for me, it would
be a pity if it was cancelled.

Why cancel it if people haven't submitted well before
the end date? The end date is the end date, submission
rates don't mean anything. At the end of the very last
day (what time zone are you using?) if there are enough
entries, then there are enough entries.
My only reason for not submitting add-ins is that I only
distribute the binaries and not the source code. If you
were to allow binary-only submissions, I'd post my
add-ins asap. Thanks.
Sounds a little harsh to cancel at this point with less
than 20. I might hype up the great odds of winning to
get people submitting in the home stretch.

Ok. I'll rephrase - I'll cancel if at the ending date we
won't have anough. that's what I meant. Sorry for not
explaining myself correctly...
Why would you cancel...
You had posted the contest and never before did I see
anything about a certain number of entries being
needed...so why now all of a sudden is there a minimum
entry number required?
I submitted mine in the hopes I would win but more so
for the chance to see everybody elses submission so I
could see what they considered as useful in the IDE and
maybe use and also to get mine out there for people to
use if they felt it was helpful.
Just my two cents...

Marc: I'll still post everything. It just seems silly to
hand out such a great bunch of prizes to something so
little bunch of folks seem to care about.
than again I think we'll have enough people entering. no
rule is set in stone.
this is a community thing and as such I don't want
anyone to feel cheated.
Hello...
Glad to hear everything will be posted.
My line of thinking is you should give out the
prizes...after all it is/was a contest. The more who
enter the harder to win and vice versa.
Also I personally wouldn't feel cheated but rather
disappointed in the way the contest was handled.
Based on my experience with my fellow co-workers writing
add-ins is not something any of them care about, use or
know how to write. As such I think your target audience
for this contest is more limited then if it was open to
normal development items. This in turn results in a
smaller number of entries then you may have been
anticipating.
Just my thoughts on all of this
