So far, so good. not working too badly. what i want is a
network version of this!
Can't really see any gains out of it. So far saved
myself 1.2 mins over 24 hours using it, yet it feels as
though it takes longer the first time you go to a page
with it.
It must not be taking off the lost time whilst it builds
up it's profile. So probably cost me 20 minutes
yesterday.
But yes MS should get moving on Longhorn otherwise they
are screwed!!!
And for god sakes update Mappoint, Google maps is wiping
the floor with it.
Installed it, it seems to be confusing some web sites
(e.g. Pearson VUE) with its implementation of cookies, I
sends me back to the previous page and says you don't
have anything in your shopping basket...
One of my concerns in regards to Microsoft's policies is
that it wants to be the superior in every area, and that
sucks money and resources. I believe that Microsoft
should focus on its competetive advantage (that is, OS,
development environments, Office, Enterprise Servers).
To be honest, I think Microsoft's investment on MSN
Search has been a waste of time and money. Even within
Microsoft most people use google to perform a search.
But the fact that I am using gmail and google's search
doesn't mean that I am planning not to use Windows,
Office, SQL Server or VS.NET.
Microsoft could have spend that budget and time on
Whidbey, Yukon and Longhorn instead. If they start being
distracted to developing gadgets, then they will be
vulnerable in their core areas like OS and Servers since
they have many competitors.
The damn thing breaks NTLM authentication. That's
unacceptably nasty. Someone at Google needs to get
smacked.
Also appears to ignore any entries in your local hosts
file.
I'm not sure I want Google being my proxy server and
knowing every page I surf to. I'm not saying I have
anything to hide, but come on. The information they can
gain through this "spyware" they can
make a mint off of selling to advertisers.
I really wish to use Google Web Accelerator but I do not
know how to get it.
